Dangerous section of Bridge to Bridge and Great River Walk

The Great River Walk is an ambitious plan to create a walking trail that follows the Hawkesbury-Nepean River from its source near Goulburn to its mouth at Broken Bay.

The Penrith section includes the 7km ‘bridge to bridge’ loop. The Victoria Bridge crossing of the Nepean River, whilst there in substance, is the missing link in an otherwise safe, scenic and enjoyable local attraction.

The bridge affords no views of the river whatsoever from a location that could provide for among the most scenic vistas of all locations on the walk.

With proper planning, construction of safe crossing for pedestrians and cyclists could also afford users great views of the Nepean River looking towards the mountains.
